Lessons from Acts 6

  1. God provides spiritual authority in the church before elders
  2.  Good leaders recognize and solve problems
  3.  Good leaders must identify and safeguard priorities
  4.  Delegation of work is a key discipleship tool
  5.  The church needs leaders to care for both temporal and spiritual needs
  6.  Servants for temporal work have spiritual qualifications
  7.  There is a distinction between choosing and authorizing
  8.  Qualifications:  Scripture sets apart within leadership, not within fellowship
  9.  Position/office and gift must be kept separate
  10.  Through good leadership, unity in the church is restored
  11.  There is a clear link between good leadership and the growth of the church
  12.  Increased growth requires increased structure
  13.  Strategic moves bring both blessing and new challenges
